Re-stringing pearls is a highly specialist craft. Pearl necklaces are usually strung on silk and need to be spaced and tightened perfectly to hang properly. They also prevent multiple pearls being lost should the necklace get snagged and break. If you have inherited pearls and are worried that the silk is old, we would also highly recommend you consider having them re-strung.
When being re-strung, each pearl is spaced and then knotted, this prevents them from rubbing against each other without compromising on flexible movement. Just simply bring in your pearl necklace and we can take care of the rest. Not only will this fix any breakages, but different silks can be used – giving a new lease of life to your jewellery and potentially a more modern look. If you’re interested in having such work done please don’t hesitate to let us know and we can advise you on the options.
